Here’s a new thing I’m doing here. Recent weddings. Here are some of the weddings from the Month of May, linked directly from my company’s Facebook account. Enjoy! The photos on facebook are extremely high in resolution by the way. These pictures are just a few that I selected. I do repeat many of my poses, so I’ll try to keep things fresh in each gallery.
May 29, 2014 Family Photos at Magic Island
I got a call from a couple who wanted family photos done. Thankfully they were very accommodating with my wedding schedule, and more so…they were a very cool couple! We got a lot of great photos too. Alright peeps, that’s it for this months of work. No more updates for this feed. On the next month…JUNE!
May 28, 2014 Wedding at Ko’olina – Great Weather!
Finally…finally, the bad weather has stopped! These shots were taken three hours to sunset. Three hours to sunset will usually yield the brightest blue sky pictures. When I shoot both blue sky and sunset shots, be prepared for a three hour long day. But, we only shoot for 1 1/2 of those hours. About 1 hour till sunset, the sky turns white, and it’s really not usable until 10 minutes before sunset. I only charge for 1 1/2 hours of those 3 hours though (because I’m an awesome guy) A lot of these other wedding shots were done 1 hour till sunset. See the difference in brightness?
May 25, 2014 Baby Baptism, Ko’olina
So the bad weather streak continues this week. It was very very humid today, but we made the best of it. This shoot was done at 8:30am before the entire island started raining.
Right now, it’s storming. Thunderstorms, lightning, cats and dogs. It’s not pretty.
Baby baptisms are something we are starting to do a lot more of. To find out more about our baby baptism packages, you can click here. There is no set script to these baptisms other than it is spiritual, includes a meaningful true Hawaiian blessing, and possibly Christian ceremony if requested. In this case, something which I never seen before, Rev. Elias Parker actually gave the baby a Hawaiian name to the baby, Ke’ala.
Some Recent Film Photos, that date back past May.
Film really has a different look to itself. You never know what you’re going to get when you shoot it, and you never know what you’re going to get when you print it. If there’s one thing that is true about film is that film looks better printed out, than on the computer screen. It’s kinda the opposite with digital. Digital photos tend to look better on your computer and on your smartphone, and pretty much dull and stale when you print them out. Here are a handful of shots taken on film. You can see that some look very nostalgic, and some very normal. None are color corrected…. All couples who order film usually get both film and digital coverage, just to get the best of both worlds.
May 23, 2014 Wedding Ko’olina
Another day of bad weather. There was no sunset today as the clouds covered everything. But I still managed to get great shots off. The clouds were “a bit” blue, so I was able to fudge it a little in the computer to make it look liked we had blue skies. The sky did open up a little so I was able to get some blue sky shots.
May 22, 2014 Vow Renewal Pupukea
This entire weekend is supposed to be filled with bad weather. Today, it rained for most of the day, and it stopped right before we got to the wedding. There was literally no clearing of blue sky whatsoever. Bad weather is just part of the risk of doing outdoor weddings. No matter what though, I will do my best to make sure your ceremony goes through flawless, and we get memorable shots.
May 17, 2014 Vow Renewal Ko’olina
I love doing vow renewals, especially when there are kids. To loosen everyone up, I worked with the kids first on some fun poses. Then, I threw in mom and dad. Surprisingly, my clients were a lot stiff than the children. That never happens…until today..haha
Mother’s Day Weddings – Sherwoods/Waimanalo
There was no sun today. We had blue skies, but no sun. That’s why the pictures lack a little contrast. Still, we got blue skies, and that turquoise ocean that so many couples want when marrying at Sherwoods.
