This stemless wine cup is awesome.   I mean wow.   This cup is very similar to the Yeti, or Hydoflask vacuum sealed cups.  They keep drinks cold or hot forever, you know the deal.  But with this cup, the lip is thinner, it’s light and not clunky.  It may have been made for wine, but I used it to keep my glass of milk icy cold, as I dunked my Oreos.  I also used it for coffee, which was kept hot until the very end.

GROOVY GUY GIFTS: ALTERED CARBON PERSONALIZED KNIFE!

About a year ago I reviewed a personalized knife from Groovy Guys and raved about it.  And this time around, I’ll be raving, once again, about their Altered Carbon model.  So here’s what I love about it:

• IT’S SHARP AND CAN BE SHARPENED – I love sharp knives, who doesn’t right?  Ironically, a sharp knife, is a safe knife.  The less force you have to use, the less likely the knife is to get away from you.  Like my last knife, this blade arrived sharp enough to cut a steak effortlessly.  But it’s me, so I had to break out my sharpener to see what type of edge I could give it.  Every knife sharpens differently depending on the alloy, and this knife sharpened beautifully.  And after I gave it a new edge, I could slice through my steak like butter.   I haven’t sharpened it again, so it’s been able to hold its edge.
• IT’S LIGHT – This is a great knife to put in your pocket that won’t pull down your shorts.   Some of my other knives are a bit too heavy.  So, this is a great tool you can carry when you’re barbecuing.
• PRACTICAL FEATURES – There is a seatbelt or rope cutter here, and a hard edge to break glass.  These are great practical tools to have near if you ever got into an accident.   Seatbelts to jam, unfortunately, and belt cutters come in handy.   Car windows can jam during accidents and they need to be destroyed, as they are sometimes the only way out.  This is a knife you can have on you, in case of emergencies.
• IT’S PERSONALIZED – There’s nothing like having your name on your knife.  I dunno what it is, but it’s pretty darn cool.

I give this 5 out of 5 stars.  I seriously do.  It’s that great.

This is not a paid advertisement at all.  This company just sent me a handful of products and I told them, if I liked ’em, I would tell the world.  Well, I liked ’em so here I am.

The company is called “Forever Wedding Favors” and you can find an assortment of high-quality products for your reception on their website.  Everything is e-commerce, pretty much like Amazon.com, with a clean interface that’s easy to navigate.   They sent me an assortment of products and I’ll list them in no specific order:

First up we a bottle opener that’s shaped like a tiny little bottle.  That’s pretty cool isn’t it?  Funny story, my neighbors came over to my house and brought over some wine and their expensive name brand opener didn’t work because the shape of the bottle was fat in the wrong areas.   Well, this wedding favor opened it.  We all had a good laugh.

These huggling polar bears are actually salt and pepper shakers.  They are just shakers, not grinders.   The standing up polar bear doesn’t balance too well on its own, but it’s something cute to have when the guests come over.  I actually like wedding favors that are actually useful, by the way.  Don’t you?

This is a key that is a bottle opener!  And yes, it works.  I don’t drink but I’ve used it already to pop open some bottles in my kitchen.  It’s definitely not a manly thing to carry around but it’s something decorative your guest can use in the house after your wedding.

This product is cool, but it’s a doozy for me.  It’s magnets that look like Typewriter keys that I guess stick to your fridge, or certain types of metals.   I guess because I’m a dude, I don’t see much use for them.  I wish they gave me all the letters of the alphabet, that would be cool.  But what really can I spell with the letters L-O-V-E?   Boring.   This is the only product that I don’t recommend.  But you know what, I’m a dude, so maybe females think differently.

CHRISTMAS GIFTS IDEAS FOR YOUR SPECIAL SOMEONE

It’s that time of the year again and you’re probably wondering, “What in the world am I gonna get (insert the person you roll your eyes at most here)!!!!!!

Yeah, so I recently got their knife – for me, not anyone else.   I better not kill anyone with it because it got my name on it, haha.  But all joking aside, I’ve been putting my knife, which I think I will name “Steven,” through the wringer lately, cutting everything from simple cardboard to carving a turkey.  I even used “Steven” to cut my steak!  Full disclosure, I did sharpen the knife, something I do with all my blades, and I’m happy to report that the metal on this sucker is great for getting a nice edge. I first heard of the Yeti vacuum-insulated cups a few years ago when they first started trending.  I have a handful of different versions of these tumblers in my cupboard, so I’m no virgin here when it comes to this technology.  If you never heard of a Yeti, here’s a quick rundown.  The Yeti utilizes double-wall vacuum insulation technology to keep drinks either hot or cold, for an absurd amount of time.   For example on how absurd that time is, I once left my ice water overnight and the next day, maybe 14 hours later, the ice was still there, in the water, in big chunks.   It does wonders for hot drinks as well.  So, if you like to keep your coffee hot, then you should definitely think about getting one.  The Yeti also doesn’t sweat, so you don’t have to worry about condensation dripping all over your desk.

The 20oz Yeti Tumbler from Bridesmaid Gifts Boutique isn’t a knockoff from China.  It comes with all the official Yeti tags. packaging, and even the warranty.  Although, if you do get your Yeti engraved, it does void the warranty.  I’ll be quite blunt, I’m not sure if I ever heard of a warranty on these cups being used, but I guess there’s always a first.

It’s a real Yeti, alright!  Even comes with an awesome sipping lid!  Let’s not forget the engraving!

THE COMBAT TRAVEL BAG

Okay, so you’re probably wondering, “What the hell is a product review of a bag doing on this site? This is a wedding site!”

I hear you.

But hear me out.

Give me a chance to defend myself.

This has everything to do with your special day as this bag was purchased from a website that is dedicated to gifts for your groomsmen.  

The site is conveniently called Groovy Groomsmen Gifts and you can go to their site by clicking here.   Purchasing something small for the men in your wedding party has been a tradition that dates back farther than I can remember.   Twenty years ago when I started planning, I wish this website existed because too many brides spent too much time hunting for gifts.   You should be busy planning your wedding, not pseudo-Christmas-shopping, right?  GoovyGroomsmen.com is loaded with the perfect toys for grown men and makes gift shopping – easy.

The prices are fair. The quality of their products are outstanding, and as an added bonus, you can personalize every product, which is a must when it comes to gifts for the men.

Now onto this freaking cool bag.

The Combat Travel Bag by Groovy Groomsmen measures roughly 7 inches wide, 20 inches long, and 12 inches high.   It’s a narrow duffel bag which makes it the right size to function as weekend warrior suitcase, or as a reusable bag for shopping.  Personally, I have used it for my trips to the beach, grocery shopping, and some wedding photography gigs.  The bag is made with canvas, so it’s pretty much indestructible.   I have a lot of bags and this one, I must say, is just the right size for a lot of errands I run around town.  It can fit everything from small tripods, camera bags, and a gallon of milk.  I like it for the fact that it’s not too wide.   Wide bags are sometimes hard to store, hard to carry.

There are 2 large beach towels, 3 medium sized food containers, and a 20oz Yeti in here, with room for more.  I was still able to zip this shut with ease.

There’s a nice pocket in the front that fits my Spider-Man Wallet perfectly.   Other pockets are the perfect size for knives or pens

The zipper is industrial strength!  No weak-sauce here

You can attach any bag strap you want here.

I got my company initials on my bag.  Groovy Groomsmen allows up to 3 initials, which should be good enough for most 

I have to make one last comment about the construction of this bag.  It’s really good.  The stitching looks to be industrial strength.  I have gym bags that are not built this tough and some are already tearing at the seams after only six months of use.  What can I say?  I manhandle my bags.  If you think this bag is a cool gift for your groomsmen, click on this link and it’ll take you straight there.  It runs about $50, so it’s priced reasonably. I’m not getting any kickbacks per purchase, by the way.
