Hale Koa Weddings

So, let’s cut to the chase.  Can you do weddings at Hale Koa or not?  The official answer is no.  But, if you ask the decision makers at Hale Koa, the answer is “If your wedding is small, go right ahead.  No one is going to stop you.”

Is it true?  Yeah, I have to say it is.  I did a few weddings there with different military couples, and no one cared.   They all just looked the other way.  Apparently, after COVID, the Hale Koa stopped planning weddings at their venue.  In fact, I think they’ve stopped receptions there too!  No one could tell me when they were officially restarting.  Some high-level employees even told me it didn’t look good, and doubted if they’ll ever start doing weddings again.

Now, I’m gonna shoot it straight with you, I think operating in this gray area of your wedding is pretty dangerous.   The Hale Koa could decide to enforce their rules one day, and that day could land on your wedding day, and you’ll have to move.   I’m okay with swimming in this gray area.  Man, I was doing weddings on the beach during the COVID lockdowns.  I was having weddings with 100s of guests when the State told me that couples could only have 10 guests at their weddings.   But, for funerals, they could have 50 guests.  Oh, and at a luau, it was unlimited guests.   So, a wedding at a Luau was safe, but a wedding on the beach was not.  And apparently, if the couple were dead, it would be extra safe for the guests, because Fauci knows best.

I’m just saying – I’m willing to break the rules!  I’ve always been that way.

So, if you want to do a small wedding there on the grounds.  I’m game.  First things first, you need to be a guest there.  Secondly, talk to someone there in their catering or events department – if they still have one.   Just talk to someone high-level about doing a small elopement on the gazebos.  They’ll probably give you the same answer I told you.   Now, if worst comes to worst, and on your wedding day we can’t do the ceremony there, we can always head to Magic Island, which is a 5-minute drive away, and do it there.

Write what you want here for your wedding, or write whatever you want. You can tell me how much the Eagles rule and the Cowboys suck!
