Possibly&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I bet you&#8217;re scratching your head, thinking, that I must be some type of nut for laying out such a bold claim.\u00a0 But hold your horses, maybe I have a point.\u00a0 And maybe, I have some statistics to back it up &#8211; just maybe.<\/p>\n<p>If you google &#8220;size of Honolulu&#8221; you&#8217;ll find that this Hawaiian city has a footprint of 68.42 square miles and a population of 374, 658 people.\u00a0 \u00a068 miles, I have to admit, isn&#8217;t that large.\u00a0 \u00a0But what&#8217;s missing is a little asterisk of an unknown fact that the City and County of Honolulu&#8217;s jurisdiction encompass the entire island of Oahu, not just Honolulu.\u00a0 \u00a0The Mayor and City Council are responsible for the maintenance and safety of the <em>entire island of Oahu<\/em>.\u00a0 \u00a0 Each of our small towns on Oahu does not have their own mayor, police, or fire department.\u00a0 \u00a0We are all under one roof.<\/p>\n<p>Technically, the City and County\u00a0of Honolulu is<strong> 597 square miles<\/strong>.\u00a0 Just for your information, it&#8217;s quite common for cities to be made up of more than one county.\u00a0 \u00a0New York City is, for example, is not limited to Manhattan, but also Long Island counties, and Staten Island.<\/p>\n<p>So where does that put Oahu next to the other major cities in the United States?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Los Angeles is 503 square miles<\/li>\n<li>San Diego is 372.4 square miles<\/li>\n<li>New York City is 304 square miles<\/li>\n<li>Dallas is 385 square miles<\/li>\n<li>Houston is 627 square miles<\/li>\n<li>Nashville is 526 square miles<\/li>\n<li>Atlanta is 134 square miles<\/li>\n<li>Seattle is 83 square miles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>How about other cities in the\u00a0world?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Toronto is 243 square miles<\/li>\n<li>Tokyo is 845 square miles!<\/li>\n<li>Singapore is only 278 square miles<\/li>\n<li>Cairo is 203.9 square miles<\/li>\n<li>London is 607 square miles<\/li>\n<li>Madrid is 233 square miles<\/li>\n<li>Paris is 40.7 square miles<\/li>\n<li>Seoul is 233.7 square miles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The great news is that, while having one of the larger cities in America, we are not as populated as the others.\u00a0 \u00a0There are only 1 million people living on Oahu.\u00a0 Cities such as NYC, have 8.5 million people living in a small footprint &#8211; vertically.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On another note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Like all major\u00a0cities, we have a mayor and city council that are a bunch of dumbos; certified idiots would be a compliment, in my opinion.\u00a0 They have no idea how to manage our island; let alone, have the creativity to solve problems.\u00a0 We have an unfinished rail transit system that threatens to bankrupt our city.\u00a0 An island-wide sewer system that is under constant repair.\u00a0 \u00a0An electrical grid and generator that is severely outdated.\u00a0 And talk about the homeless problem, it&#8217;s pretty bad.\u00a0 There are some crazy dudes walking our streets now.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t get me started on traffic &#8211; it&#8217;s bad here during rush hour, some say the worst in the nation.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t we sound like your city?\u00a0 The problem with Honolulu is that we have a government that can&#8217;t figure out that we are a big city with big problems.\u00a0 We have small minded politicians, pea brains, ruining paradise.<\/p>\n<p>So, here are some other cool facts that you need to know about Honolulu.\u00a0 Even though we are in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, this little island tends to make waves that are heard around our country, not to mention the world.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>America&#8217;s Entry into World War II was started right here.\u00a0 Who can forget Pearl Harbor?<\/li>\n<li>The only Royal Palace in the United States, the Iolani Palace, is found here.\u00a0 It&#8217;s really cool.\u00a0 You should check it out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Let&#8217;s fast-forward to modern times:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NCAA Football &#8211; Are you a fan of college ball?\u00a0 Well, local quarterbacks have been all the buzz as of late.\n<ul>\n<li>McKenzie Milton &#8211; the quarterback for UCF, blew out the Auburn Tigers in the Peach Bowl<\/li>\n<li>Jordan Taamu &#8211; the quarterback for Ole Miss, is the starting QB and looks to be very promising<\/li>\n<li>Tua Tagovailoa &#8211; the quarterback of Alabama.\u00a0 I&#8217;m pretty sure he&#8217;ll be starting.\u00a0 But who can forget his performance at the National Championships?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>NFL Football\n<ul>\n<li>Marcus Mariota &#8211; the quarterback of the Tennessee Titans, seems to have a promising future (if he gets the right coach).\u00a0 \u00a0There are a lot more players in the NFL from Hawaii, but he&#8217;s the most notable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>President Barack Obama &#8211; I&#8217;m not a fan of his.\u00a0 But he was born and raised here.\u00a0 Next, to the Clintons, he&#8217;s the star of the Democrat party, make no mistake.<\/li>\n<li>VeriFone &#8211; Ever heard of it?\u00a0 That&#8217;s the credit card swiping machine!\u00a0 That was invented here.\u00a0 I bet that guy is enjoying life.<\/li>\n<li>Cell Phone Wireless Data\u00a0 &#8211; That tech as invented here at our University and was called &#8220;Alohanet&#8221;\u00a0 Pretty insane, huh<\/li>\n<li>Countless Movies are still filmed here on Oahu, most recently, Jumanji and Jurassic World.<\/li>\n<li>The Rock &#8211; Went to school here.\u00a0 His family also wrestled here.<\/li>\n<li>Bruno Mars &#8211; He&#8217;s from Waikiki.\u00a0 He&#8217;s the next Michael Jackson, isn&#8217;t he?<\/li>\n<li>Nicole Kidman &#8211; was born in Honolulu&#8230; really?\u00a0 Just googled that<\/li>\n<li>Jason Mamoa &#8211; Aquaman, born right here.\u00a0 Talk about an alpha male.<\/li>\n<li>Bette Midler &#8211; from Hawaii.\u00a0 Is she still popular?<\/li>\n<li>Tetris Owner, Henk Rogers, is here in Honolulu &#8211; does anyone stll play that?<\/li>\n<li>Pierre Omidyar founder of Ebay, lives in Honolulu &#8211; Isn&#8217;t he named after bottled water?<\/li>\n<li>Doug Chin &#8211; not a fan, but he&#8217;s the attorney general who put a stop to President Trump&#8217;s travel ban, which was completely out of his jurisdiction.\u00a0 He was so busy doing that, he failed to recognize that our Honolulu Police Cheif was committing federal crimes, and stealing millions from his family to support a lavish lifestyle.<\/li>\n<li>Oh, our Police Chief and lead Prosector (his wife) &#8211; are extremely corrupt, idicted by the FBI, and are most likely headed to Federal Prison.\u00a0 \u00a0I think that&#8217;s a 1st in the nation!<\/li>\n<li>We are also recognized for the <strong>BIGGEST BONEHEADED PERSON IN THE UNITED STATES<\/strong> &#8211; The worker who thought a military exercise was a real nuclear missile threat and issued a false warning to residents and tourist that an ICBM was headed for Oahu.\u00a0 For 20 minutes, over 1 million people thought they were going to roast.\u00a0 \u00a0 It was uncovered that this wasn&#8217;t the first time this worker thought we were under attack.\u00a0 There were two other times!\u00a0 And why didn&#8217;t he get fired then?\u00a0 Well&#8230;.who knows.\u00a0 \u00a0Yes, he&#8217;s America&#8217;s greatest idiot and he&#8217;s from Honolulu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I can, of course, keep going down the list of what makes Oahu, notable.\u00a0 But I think I&#8217;ve written enough.\u00a0 \u00a0Of course, all of this doesn&#8217;t matter.\u00a0 What makes Oahu notable for most of my clients is that this is where they chose to start the second chapter in their life.\u00a0 \u00a0Yes, I&#8217;m talking about marriage!\u00a0 And that&#8217;s what makes Hawaii special for them!<\/p>\n<p>Talk to you all again soon :)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I bet you&#8217;re scratching your head, thinking, that I must be some type of nut for laying out such a bold claim.\u00a0 But hold your horses, maybe I have a point.\u00a0 And maybe, I have some statistics to back it up &#8211;
