TYING THE KNOT IN OAHU
I'm going to tell you that this article is completely biased. I guess I can say that all of my articles are biased. I have strong opinions on almost every subject. This is just one man's opinion. And what is my opinion on Oahu ? It rocks, and it's the best island out all the islands for one main reason: “It's not boring here!”
The strengths of the outer islands; Hawaii , Maui, Laniai, Molokai, is that they are beautiful islands with many beautiful “outdoor” things to do. They have great resorts, great golf courses, and probably a lot of historical landmarks that double as great tourist destinations, or as I like to call them...“tourist traps.”
But one thing the outer islands lack is…excitement, a vibrant nightlife, or things to do that are outside of being a tourist. In fact, many of my couples who have “island hopped” have told me that they enjoyed Oahu the most because there were just so many things to do.
In my completely one-sided opinion, Oahu, of course, is a very exciting place to be because I have lived here close to my entire life, and have really not had an episode of “rock fever.” There are just so many things to do here, I really have not gotten bored.
Now why would Oahu be a fit for your wedding?

We have the most white sand beaches out of all islands - I'm really not sure why we do, I think it has something do with erosion. But out of all the islands, Oahu has the most white sand beaches. Drive in any one direction for enough time, you're bound to run into a large run of sand. This is really not the case for our neighbor islands. It is rather difficult to find a white sandy beach on our neighboring islands; most of their beaches are fairly rocky. What's the advantage of having many white sand beaches? The obvious answer that comes to mind is that because we have so many white sand beaches, the majority of our beaches here on Oahu are not very crowded. Even with tourism at an all time high every summer, it is still highly possible to find secluded empty beaches here.

It's cheaper to travel to Oahu – Remember that Honolulu is the main hub when flying to the State of Hawaii . While there are straight flights that exist from Los Angeles to Maui, and so on, to the outer islands ….it is still cheaper to fly directly to Oahu . Not only is it cheaper to fly to Oahu , hotel rooms are also cheaper as well. Now if you are a wedding couple who is fronting the bill for your parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, you name it…flying to Oahu rather than the outer islands, will drastically cut your bill down by a few thousand dollars.

We have the most wedding support here – The wedding industry is very robust in the State of Hawaii , and it just happens to be a lot more concentrated here on Oahu . This means that even if you don't book with me, you'll still be more than likely to find a great vendor or coordinator here or minister, here on Oahu, not just a vendor who is available. You'll also find ten times more restaurants here, so organizing a great small reception will not be as difficult as on the other islands.
- A lot of things to do for your family – So lets say that you do plan to have your family at your wedding, Oahu is probably the best choice because there will just be tons of things for your family to do here, a great way to can get them out of your hair. You didn't hear that from me though.
