The State of Hawaii is a signature away from implementing a Climate Change tax. If passed, the hotel tax will be raised to 11%, and most likely this won't be the end - it never is. To make things worse, you're going to add a 4.75% General Excise tax, which literally taxes tax.

It's bullshit - and to all my future wedding couples, I truly apologize for our government.

The money will go towards curbing climate change, which let's face it, Hawaii is so tiny that no matter what we do - it can't curb climate change. Our active volcano contributes more Co2 than tourism. And they always use these funds in all areas of the budget. Climate Change is just an excuse. Our State already raised the GE Tax to pay for our rail, which isn't done. And they took that money to give themselves raises, and to pay for god knows what. The state also paid itself by raiding our Hurricane Fund. They are so corrupt.

Currently, our Governor is suing gas companies for the Lahaina fires, which is more bullshit. The fires were caused by our local government's decision to not manage dry brush. When you drive down all of our roads, you will notice that the government doesn't landscape - anything. We used to. Now they just let it go and use the surplus money to give themself raises, and to give the homeless money to be homeless.

Hawaii is still a beautiful place to visit.
