Every now and then I get a call from a hotel asking me if I have I have any cheap family photos that I can offer, possibly on the beach. My reply, “Yup! I sure do!”
I have no problem at all doing it. I know there are a lot of photographers who shy away from this type of work because the money isn’t extravagant, but to me, every little bit counts! Plus, it’s not all about the money. I welcome the change-up in work.
Family photography is pretty much like the formal portion of wedding photography, which consist of…well, family photos. Except one thing. It’s a lot more fun because families are willing to go into the water, play on the beach, you name it. I’ve put together a “roundabout” price for what a photography package may cost you. If I shoot baby pictures, or a larger family, the price may increase because I will have to shoot more photos. The price increase will not be a major bump. Just a little.
