Couple: Kyle and Michelle Location:
Abandoned Building
Photographers Comments: Kyle and Michelle
are very artistic. Kyle is an amazing graphic design artist and live motion animator. Michelle does the same
plus metal design. They saw this building on their way to
Turtle Bay and fell in love with it's desolate look. This
photo to me conveys a message that "Love Survives."
The building is in a horrible condition, yet our couple
doesn't care. They just dance, dance, and dance.... |

Couple: Kyle
and Michelle
Location: Secluded Beach Near Turtle Bay
Photographers Comments: Kyle and Michelle
tied the knot at this beach. It's one of my favorite beaches
to shoot at because there are many photographic opportunities
and NO WIND. The challenge to this shot again was the lighting
as we shot during 12pm. I used an extremely strong flash
here to cancel as much of the shadows as we could on Kyle's
face. On a side note, I am addicted to these panoramic shots.
They look like stills off of a movie, agreed? |

Couple: Kyle
and Michelle
Location: Abandoned Building
Photographers Comments: Michelle used to
be a model, and Kyle can sure pass for one. So I wanted
to get a little creative here. With only one shot left on
our roll we ran to another abandoned building. (It's across
the street from the abandoned building in the picture above.)
Kyle hopped into the window and pulled Michelle up. It took
a few seconds to compose the shot and there were a handful
of mosquitoes buzzing around. But we got it! The flash power
was set to a half a stop (half power) as we did not want
our flash to be the main source of light. We just wanted
to provide enough catch to add a little shine to her legs
and arms
Later, we scanned the negative into our computer and pulled
out half of the color to give it more of a fashion look.
We also upped the contrast to give it a more carnal feeling.

Couple: Kyle
and Michelle
Location: Banyan Trees by Turtle Bay
Photographers Comments: These Banyan Trees
were actually on the trail leading to the secluded beach
where Kyle and Michelle got married. They fell in love with
these trees and wanted a few shots next to it. The problem
remained, how to created memorable shot next to these banyans
without getting too close to the trunk. Moreover, how exactly
to light this area properly. We used the main flash off
our Nikon Camera in conjuction with a medium sized reflector
to fill the background with sunlight. Without that reflector,
the background would have been pitch black.
