Couple:Richard and Alexia Location:
North Shore Photographer Comments:
I really love this shot. This is a great example
of knowing how to take great scenic wedding pictures.. If
you're read my article on photography, great photographers,
know how to back the camera up away from your subjects.
Notice the cinematic feel to this wedding as their friends
(whom they just met a day before) watch their wedding. To
take this shot, a measurement was taken off the sky, then
off the sand. We took the average of the two exposers used
a small camera flash at full power to fill in the forground.
Without the camera flash, the couple would have become sillouttes. |

Photographer Comments: Being inthe right
position at the right time helps. At the end of every ceremony,
we navigate our way to the front to prepare to capture for
the couples first kiss after marriage. It's your standard
Kodak moment, romantic, passionate, you name it. Most of
the time, pictures come out great. If you're lucky, they
come out awesome. This is an example where we just got lucky
as the couples hands drifted just far enough away from each
other to expose the sun. By using a high aperture, we were
able to flare the sunrays without the use of a star filter. |

Location: North Shore
Photographers Comments: This shot was taken
shortly AFTER sunset. About 10 minutes after sunset, very
cool colors start to emerge in the atmosphere, the pinks,
the greens, the really deep oranges. Sometims, the sky even
turns purple. Utiliziing a small flashs set on HIGH power,
we managed to fill in the foreground quite respectively.
It's important to note here that our flash, like in all
pictures, are barely noticable. Many amature photographers
tend to mount their flash WAY off camera, causing long shadows
across the nose, or under the chin. Usually, a flash mounted
directly on the camera is suffecient, resulting in perfect
shadows. As you notice, there is the prefect amount of shadows
under Alexia's chin. |

Photographers Comments: So here's a portrait
shot.. As you've probably noticed, all wedding photos usually
revolve around the bride. Usually, a little hint of female
dominance in shots somehow make photos a little more romantic.
Don't ask me why, it just works. The female is usually proactive,
while the groom is usually retroactive. The right side of
the picture is always the stronger portion of the picture.
Whenever possible, we try to shoot everything from the right
or try to position the bride and groom on the right side
of the picture. |
